#BBATHECHASE: Weekend round up...

Friday.... The day started with the routine morning exercises but not every housemate took part in it. It was a very lazy morning as some were still sleeping.

Elikem gathered the housemates in the lounge for the HoH task. Angelo who had won the Power of No task gave it to Elikem and said he just wants another housemate to have a chance of being the HoH. Elikem read out the HoH task, it's a hotdog eating competition. Bimp wins the HoH task after being the first housemate to finish eating. He was followed by Angelo and Melvin.

Beverly was asked by the HoH. Elikem to wear the Go Pro camera in which she refused profusely. An angry Beverly said she's been wearing the camera all week long and won't wear it again for that day. She said she's been confused and no longer confused and that Elikem should pick someone else which made Elikem burst into laughter. Elikem then decided he will wear it.

The housemates converged at the Arena for the Airtel Arena Showdown. Housemates competed in a bungee run where they had to collect as many balls as possible from the field and dump in a pool provided for them. Housemates were divided into two teams. Red and White team, the Red team consist of Melvin, Cleo and Elikem while the White team had Beverly, Angelo and Bimp. Dillish sat out for the contest and will join the winning team for the treat. The Red team won at the end of the contest.

The housemates returned back to the house and started playing football in the garden. After a while, Pebbles the fish asked Elikem to gather his housemates for a surprise. The fish then rendered a song for the housemates and chatted with them. Later in the evening Melvin, Cleo, Dillish and Elikem engaged themselves in a discussion about relationship in the bedroom.

After some interesting dialogue, it all took a turn when Melvin told Dillish that she does not know much about relationships because she has only been in one. Dillish responded that she doesn't have to be in a lot of relationships to know about them. She said the fact that she has been in one for a long time means that she knows about relationships. She then jokingly took a swipe at Melvin saying "What about you? You trust too much, you let your girlfriend go where with other guys and then you bought her gifts for Valentines Day. She cheated on you and you took her back". She then said that's why Melvin doesn't have a girlfriend. Melvin didn't take that lightly as he had told Dillish that confidentially. He told Dillish she was saying lots of crap and told her to shut the fuck off and stormed out of the room.
Later in the night while preparing dinner in the kitchen, Elikem noticed Melvin had been quiet and keeping to himself. He then told Dillish she caused it. Dillish went over to Melvin and apologised but said they will talk about it when they are alone. Big Brother played Channel O for the housemates as they chill in the lounge. The night went away as housemates go to bed to sleep.

Saturday......  Housemates got up doing one or two things in the house. Some did their laundry while others cleaned the house. Elikem the HoH took Cleo along to the rendezvous room for his treat as the HoH. They played pool while they had snacks and drinks and enjoyed themselves.

Just after they were done with their rendezvous session, housemates played a game of volleyball in the garden. They divided themselves into a team of two and while away the time. Big Brother gave them some alcohol and they drank that after their game. The winning Arena Showdown team got two visitors who taught them about some skills or so in the garden. Just after that, the boys gathered in the garden again and played a game of football.

Later in the evening, Dillish finally got hold of Melvin in the lounge and apologised to him after using what he had told him in private against him in public. She said she didn’t do it to hurt his feelings or anything, she said she was taking it as a joke. Melvin who had since calmed down and had been talking to her lightly before then accepted her apology. They hugged each other and joked a bit.

The housemates prepared for their Saturday night party. DJ Otis Fraser from Zimbabwe was in the house to thrill the housemates to some good music and he didn't disappoint. The housemates danced and grooved for the hour long party and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They got back to the lounge and engaged themselves in some intellectual discussion. Then after, Cleo and Dillish got into their routine after party 'drunk attitude'. The night passed away and brought to end another interesting day in the Big Brother house.

Sunday...... Eviction air looms in the house. Even as a viewer i could smell and feel it. I can only imagine how tensed and nervous the housemates always feel when it's Sunday especially the nominated ones. The hair stylists came around and styled the nominated housemates.

Angelo and Beverly got their alone time together and read the Bible. Melvin and Bimp told Cleo and Dillish about their drunken antics the other night. Housemates did their final shopping of the season. Melvin and Elikem prepared lunch for the housemates. Beverly took off her weave and said she was tired of it. Bimp and Dillish feeling the nomination fever. Elikem helped Dillish to iron her dress while Beverly assisted Bimp with his looks. The day went so fast for the housemates.

Nomination diary session started with Bimp. He said he feels very nervous and scared and anxious to hear what IK will say. Dillish said she's ready for whatever and prepare to go if she has to. She thanked everyone for the experience. Elikem talked about his decision to replace Angelo and not so sure how Angelo will take it.

The Live Eviction show started and Bimp and Angelo were the housemates to be evicted. Dillish was saved for a record of five times this season. She escaped the dreaded 'fifth time eviction' as Natasha, Annabel and Pokello had also been saved four times by Africa but evicted on the fifth time around. So Dillish joins Elikem, Cleo, Melvin and Beverly to make up the Top 5.

So, there you have it. Did anyone at the early stage of the season ever predicted or expected these five housemates to be the Top 5? Any surprises for you? Is your favourite in the Top 5? Who do you see winning or who poses a threat to your favourite?

  1. I knew from the first week that Melvin will be in the top five. Maybe Dillish too and thats it. I dunno where Cleo cropped up from. Bev should have been long gone if not for the otmokpo or whateever spiritual thing they have been doing for her. Elikem too should have been evicted especially after his stunt with Poki and Fatiman. But i guess when he didn't get evicted after that he was bound to go far in the game. Anyway my winner is Melvin. I hope he does win if only for his good heart cos mehn his entertainment level ku die ka to. With his akamu behaviour na wa. Hes just an all round good guy. Thats all. I hope he wins.

  5. Surprise for me is Hakeem or Pokello not making the top 5. I never saw that coming. Beverly in the top 5 is a fortunate one, she's quite lucky. I would have loved to see Sulu in the top 5 though. Melvin is definitely winning this and Cleo will probably come close. Elikem has really done well for himself and am happy for him.

  6. Yes o. Melvin is winning this. Elikem will not win but he's the one housemate that has showcased his tailoring talent to the whole of Africa. I see massive things in his future. He used the big brother show to his advantage and that alone will open doors for him. Let's just hope he doesnt use his loud mouth to chase his benefactors away. He should just learn to shut up every once in a while and he's good to go. As for Bev that one will most likely leave with zero country votes or maybe SA sha which i strongly doubt. Cleo will be third or fourth while the top two will be Mel and Dillish.

  7. Nice wrap! Early on would have expected Sulu and Natasha to possibly make the finals given their lively personas.

Over the moon that our girl Dillish has made it to the top five. She is more than the sum total of her parts, so to speak. In many ways I think she's similar, although different, to Melvin in that, in my opinion, both have very likeable attributes. Rooting, and voting, for Dillish, of course!

On an unrelated note, was sorry to see Uganda's Denzel go so early. Weird, BBA seems to have seasons: years when the 'bold and the brash' are embraced by fans, and years when people opt for those who are ... well, nice (in the best sense of the word).

Personally feel it's a pity that this regional thing has become such a big deal for some. Generally prefer to vote for my favourite irrespective of their country, or region. My favourites rarely win, LoL. Funnily enough, though, two of my favourites who did win were from Naija: Uti and Karen.

  8. This regional thing is a sad recent development.
I guess we are just paying lip service to the whole "one love, one blood, one Africa thing"
As the season winds down, i can only pray and hope that next season has better content, like totally up the game none of these braincells draining tasks, eish
