#BBATHECHASE: Beverly, Cleo and Feza share their horrible experiences.

It has been a serious week in the house so far with Big Brother giving housemates tasks that has to do with serious issues that affects Africa. Ice Prince came to the house on Monday to discuss with housemates about the One Campaign which he represents and also to encourage housemates to discuss and encourage African leaders to keep taking action against extreme poverty.

Just this afternoon, housemates engaged in serious discussion ranging from extreme poverty to HIV/AIDS. The discussion later shifted to abuse against women with Feza, Cleo and Beverly sharing their personal experience. Feza talked about how the father of her child got married without her knowing about it and how she was beaten and almost run over with a car by an ex.

Cleo was quite emotional when sharing her experience to attentive housemates. She talked about how she has been living with the father of her child. They both lived together in South Africa with their daughter. The guy won't let her do anything and just wanted her to stay indoors always while she had the dream of pursuing her music aspiration. She would sneak out to the studio without him knowing. After a while she left him with her daughter. Then the guy went to prison, so she went back to pick up her child. When the guy came out of prison, he came around and took away their child to Zimbabwe. She will often go to Zimbabwe to visit her daughter.

Then they started living together again and the beating continued, he punched and almost strangled her causing her serious physical harm. There was a day she was really beaten up and the guy took her to the hospital for treatment and when they were about leaving the hospital, she came out of the car and ran away and since then stayed away from him. He came back after two months to propose to her and she emphatically said No. The guy still supports her for the welfare of their child.

Beverly talked about her experience with her ex-boyfriend, the popular Nigerian rapper 2Shotz. How violent and extremely controlling he was. Always beating her up for everything. She must switch off all her phones by 10pm and go to sleep. That sometimes he will come to her house as early as 6am and complain to her mum about her. He will threaten her that if she doesn't give him sex, he will go out to seek it and this will be after beating her up.

Meanwhile, he will still go out and cheat on her. She mentioned of a particular day 2Shotz was in Abuja in a club with some girl, that the manager of the club called her and told her about it and even sent a picture of the girl to her. She also said how her mum kept warning her against him and said she even pushed her mother onto the floor because of him. Her mother will lock her up but she will sneak out. Her mother even took Police to arrest 2Shotz because of his constant violence against her. She was pregnant for 2Shotz and was going to keep it and all of a sudden he came back from South Africa and told her to remove a 5 months old pregnancy. He would beat her so much for anything and everything. There was a day she ran to the bathroom and closed the door, he forced the door open and slammed  her ribs on the bath tub. She even stood up to show the housemates the scar on her ribs.

He begged her after they broke up and they got back together. Two months after that 2Shotz proposed to someone else. Even after he got engaged to his wife, he didn't let her go. He actually came to her house two weeks before his marriage and said he can't live without her.  He also  threatened to release her naked pictures to the public. She went on and on. It was a gasping and touching experience/story that the girls shared with the housemates. Melvin, Elikem and Angelo were just quiet and shell shocked all the while.

I'm a woman and not in support of any form of abuse. No woman should accept any form of violence. We must all come together and speak against domestic violence against women. IT MUST STOP.

  1. See ehn i'm happy these women spoke out. This is a lesson for women in abusive relationships/marriages. Stop letting a man use you as his punching bag. You are not a boxer and neither are you a wrestler. Stop letting him use you to do practice. Thats how someone i know was in an abusive relationship for four years. Until he knocked her unconscious one time after dragging her in the gutter in front of their house. Yeah they were staying together so you can only imagine how much she spent on pain killers. Money she could have even used to buy clothes or shoe. That one time we knew she was in the hospital cos the guy had beaten her blue black she started making excuses for him that he's always under a lot of stress and thats the only way he could relieve himself of the stress. Are u a spa treatment or massage chair?Na wa. Long story short she had so many scars on her body from the guy's constant pummeling and one day he chased her out of his house and said she wasnt pretty enough for him anymore. He is now married to someone else with 2 kids. My friend is still carrying her scars about.Damaged face, body and all. And shes very light skinned so you can imagine. God will still punish him o. But please u dont have to take constant beating of life before he gets his punishment. Run the first time he hits u. Even if na ordinary slap. Its better to be miserable alone than to be miserable with someone else biko.
